Weatherproof, handmade gazebos for year-round use
Our gazebos are made from high-quality wrought iron using traditional craftsmanship. This makes them particularly dimensionally stable and solid. Strong winds, storms, frost and wet weather cannot damage these stable, weatherproof pavilions – even over many years.
ELEO Gazebo offers weatherproof pavilions in a variety of designs:
What makes a weatherproof gazebo?
Weatherproof gazebos can withstand wind, rain, snow and ice. The fact that our gazebos are made of solid wrought iron is already a basic requirement for them to be able to stand in your garden all year round. This is because the sturdy metal is highly resistant to moisture, wind and frost.
Anchoring is essential for year-round use
Anchoring is essential for year-round use
If you opt for a durable pavilion made of weather-resistant wrought iron, anchoring also plays a crucial role in year-round use. Only when your gazebo is firmly and securely anchored in concrete in the ground will even the heaviest autumn storm struggle to tear it from its foundations.
Customised coating for your gazebo all year round
A pavilion can only be used all year round if it can remain outdoors in every season without additional maintenance and care. The coating also plays a role. Although a coating is not absolutely necessary for a wrought-iron pavilion to be used all year round, an additional coating will definitely increase its longevity.
Simply choose your favourite from the following coatings:
- Uncoated version: weatherproof, achieves an elegant rust look through corrosion
- Hot-dip galvanisiation: decades of corrosion protection
- Powder coating: long-term protection against corrosion and individual colour selectio

What should you consider when choosing a storm-proof gazebo?
Due to its heavy weight, a wrought-iron gazebo can withstand wind and storms much better than a folding gazebo or a lighter aluminium gazebo. Normal wind conditions therefore pose no problem for our wrought iron gazebos. It is relatively easy to make a gazebo storm-proof by securing it correctly:
- The gazebo stands on a foundation.
- Installation with screw connections and anchors in the foundation
- Remove sun sails, cloths and loose accessories in the event of storm warnings.
How to protect your gazebo from frost
Our wrought iron gazebos are generally winter-proof. However, the floor construction can suffer in winter when temperatures drop below zero. Water that collects under the foundation expands when it freezes and can cause damage. You can counteract this risk with a drainage layer of gravel. We recommend that the drainage layer be at least 80 cm deep.

Using an all-season gazebo in winter
With the clever use of furniture and accessories, you can turn your pavilion into a real feel-good place for the whole year, which you can use in your garden without restriction even in the cold season. Your family and friends will be delighted too!
There are various ways to create a cosy atmosphere so that you can enjoy your all-season pavilion in winter. Firstly, you can install a power connection in your pavilion and use electric radiators to provide cosy warmth. Alternatively, you can use one of the many mains-independent heaters available on the market. These are usually powered by gas from compact bottles.
The following items are also ideal for cosy hours in your winter gazebo:
- cosy blankets, cushions and seat covers
- curtains to shield against cold winds
- fire bowls and candles
Are there waterproof gazebos?
Unlike wooden gazebos, our wrought iron all-season gazebos are water-resistant. This means that the material does not warp when it rains. However, when we talk about waterproof and rainproof gazebos, we generally mean that we can sit under the gazebo and stay dry even in rainy weather.
ELEO’s fundamentally weatherproof gazebos can be supplemented with optional rain protection. The rain protection consists of special tarpaulins that can be quickly and easily attached to the roof of your garden gazebo and also to the side elements. These offer water pressure resistance of 70 hPa.
This makes the gazebo rainproof, but not 100% waterproof. Rain showers cannot damage the shade sails and you can stay in the gazebo without any problems – however, in the event of severe weather and storms, you should remove the cloths, as otherwise there is a risk of damage.
A roof protects against wind and weather
If you want to use your all-season pavilion exclusively to display your climbing plants as a climbing pavilion, a roof is unnecessary. But if you intend to enjoy your pavilion as a cosy seating area all year round, a roof is highly recommended. Various manufacturers offer different roof designs. These include, among others:
- Canvas roofs (shade-sails), waterproof and UV-resistant
- Glass roofs
- Transparent plastic roofs (polycarbonate or acrylic glass)
- Closed roof constructions with tiles or shingles
Awnings for the roof and sides: protection from sun, wind and rain
To equip your ELEO gazebo for year-round use and make it weatherproof, we offer special UV-resistant and waterproof awnings. These can be attached flexibly, quickly and easily to the roof area and hung on the sides – protecting you from wind, strong sun, light rain showers and prying eyes. Regardless of the season and weather, you can enjoy your stay in your all-season pavilion to the fullest.

Frequently asked questions about all weather gazebos
Wrought iron gazebos are particularly robust thanks to their sturdy material and can easily withstand wind. With side panels or curtains, you can further protect your weatherproof gazebo from draughts and create a cosy atmosphere. These curtains not only provide pleasant sun protection in summer, but also make it comfortable to use the gazebo even when it is windy. However, in stormy weather, you should remove the curtains to prevent damage to the fabric. This way, your gazebo will remain a protected and cosy retreat all year round.
Yes, mains-independent heating devices such as gas heaters or infrared heaters with rechargeable batteries are ideal for keeping your weatherproof gazebo pleasantly warm even on cooler days. These devices are flexible in use and do not require a nearby power source. In our magazine article ‘Using your garden in winter’, you will find more tips on how to turn your weatherproof gazebo into a cosy retreat – even in the cold season. Whether for an atmospheric winter dinner or relaxing hours outdoors: with the right equipment, your pavilion will remain a place to feel good, regardless of the season.
To make your all-season gazebo particularly cosy on cold days, equip your garden furniture with warm cushions. Lambskins are ideal for lounge furniture, as they provide pleasant warmth even at low temperatures. Beanbags for adults are another comfortable and warming option. Cosy blankets and soft cushions complete the feel-good atmosphere and invite you to linger – even on frosty winter days. With these simple measures, your weatherproof pavilion will become the perfect retreat during the cold season.
A weatherproof gazebo is a versatile addition to your garden that can be used all year round. In summer, it offers pleasant protection from intense sunlight and creates a cool outdoor retreat. In autumn and winter, the robust construction ensures that the pavilion can withstand weather conditions such as wind or snow. With additional elements such as side panels or curtains, it remains cosy even on cooler days. All year round, a weatherproof pavilion offers a stylish way to make the most of your garden – whether for social gatherings, relaxing hours or special outdoor occasions.
