Wooden or metal pergolas?

When choosing the material for a pergola, the choice is often between wood and metal. Both materials have their advantages, but metal offers some decisive benefits, especially when it comes to durability, weather resistance and maintenance.

And not all metal is the same. We only use sturdy wrought iron. Our posts are made of 2 mm thick square profiles, while the other parts are made of up to 10 mm solid iron.

The resource balance of aluminium is problematic, as bauxite must be mined for its production. Compared to aluminium, iron is not only more stable and durable, but also more environmentally friendly, as its production is less energy-intensive. How is a heavy duty pergola installed?

Whether freestanding or attached to your house wall, an ELEO pergola does not need to be directly attached to the house wall. Our heavy duty pergolas stand firmly on the ground with their four posts and only require ground anchors. The ground conditions of your property play a decisive role here.
