Duplex powder coating
Powder coating is a high-end finish for wrought iron items. Thanks to the duplex treatment, the surface acquires greater protection against corrosion through several layers, thus improving quality as its lifespan is 1.2 to 2.5 times longer than the sum of each individual protection. Elements that are particularly exposed to the outdoors are thus ideally protected, and this technique allows you to choose the colour of your arbour.
The following steps are carried out:
- Surface preparation by sandblasting
- Immersion cataphoresis (KTL coating): this surface treatment serves both as protection against corrosion and mechanical and chemical influences (stone chips, sea water), and also acts as an ideal pre-treatment for powder coating
- Powder coating: After this treatment, the surface is then coated with powder paint before being baked at a temperature of up to 250 °C. This powder paint coating, composed of 100% solid material, does not require solvents. The material can be coated with any RAL colour.
RAL colours
are well-defined shades, each with its own number. This makes it possible to determine the exact colour of a surface (powder coating, paint or other coating), ensuring a consistent shade even when materials and products differ.
ELEO uses DB 703 polyester powder with a sparkling metallic effect as standard. This colour produces a very elegant, high-end effect, is pleasant to the touch and provides perfect protection.
Powder coating is also available in the colour of your choice. The colours most commonly used on wrought iron gazebos are as follows:
- RAL 9001: pure white
- RAL 9010: cream white
- RAL 6009: fir green
- RAL 6005: moss green
- RAL 9005: deep black
